Welcome to South Asia Biz Blog. Not too many people are interested in starting a new blog in 2026. However, if you go back 20 years to 2006, blogging — or professional blogging — was the buzz topic around the world. Thousands of people were eager to start a blog; it was like a gold rush. I used to be a blogger back then, and I had a blog with the same name, under the "Know More Media" network. I've opened this blog because I want to start writing again. Twenty years ago, as a professional blogger, my main target was to reach the first page of Google and use social networking sites like Digg, Reddit, and StumbleUpon to draw thousands of visitors every week. At that time, Google PageRank was a very important factor for search engine optimization.   Geographical Indication (GI) is mainly a kind of Intellectual Property (IP) right. It helps identify special products from a geographical region with certain unique features. When a particular product of a country is significantly related to the soil, water, climate, and local culture of a specific geographical region, it is considered a Geographical Indication (GI) product of that country.   The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), under the United Nations, plays a key role in the spread of GI products worldwide.
